Hiking food on the Bicentennial National TrailI planned to be unsupported on the trail. By this I mean I didn't have a support team or vehicle to meet me at any predesignated spot with food and supplies. As I needed about 50 food drops along the way, and I was carrying all of my own supplies, weight and size was a major consideration in the planning.
With that in mind, I came up with the menu below following a lot of research online around typical trekking food and in considering resupply options along the trail. I added a sachet of spices to my food parcels to add a little more flavour and interest to my meals, but I knew for sure I'd be pigging out on pub & takeaway meals at every opportunity. |
